We will use the lyrical imagination of the 5 Rhythms combined with artwork,  and writing to help deepen our relationship with ourselves and others and to have a lot of fun.
We will have free time to explore the beautiful countryside and sea side of the Burren in Co. Clare

This workshop is open to women and men, whether you are coming to dance for the first time or whether you have already been touched by the power of the 5 Rhythms. All that is asked is a willingness to be present and open to the experience that will unfold.

Last year we were delighted to welcome 2 Belgian dancers to Ireland to participate in our Summer School. Read here about their experience of the Summer School Dance Workshop

After a year of hard work with students and clients, I finally wanted something for myself. A gift that could warm me up, energize me, relax me, but also challenge me. I am always up for new experiences, but this time I longed for rest . Simply being able to stay in this moment in time, not rushing forward, or keeping the past under control. I knew this was impossible when staying home, with all its responsibilities and duties. In my dreams I saw myself flying over the ocean, to a place where I  just could be me.  The question was where was that place?  Where could I find what I was longing for?  It has to be an island, exotic, tropical, warm?  There are a lot of possibilities for  a 5 rythmes dancer.  Then I realized that  I needed something more than water and sea, my body needed to be grounded again,
Maybe you wonder If I found this place?? And yes I did.
I followed my body, my dreams and I flew over the ocean to Ireland, always green, mystical and full of music and art. An old island with an old culture. And there in the midst of nowhere, I danced, walked, painted, enjoyed lovely meals talked for hours, tried to play the drums and had so much fun.  Being in this moment in time with other dancers from different ages and feeling truly connected, was a lasting experience and I am grateful to Catriona, Sadhbh, Mary, and the team of the  Boghill center for their loving engagement.

I met Caitriona during an ongoing workshop in Orval. Her bounce, her humor, her neurobiological knowledge and the love for her country made me very curious and so I went to "the summerschool 2010".
The rough and pure nature of the Burren touched me deeply.  The landscape guided me straight to my heart, so I could spend my holiday there.  I 'm very grateful for the invitation by dance and artwork to explore the layers of this heart of mine.  I discovered that dance and artwork is a magical duo to explore and express, to be inspired, to go in and out, to dive and fly.
This week was a gift. It was a gift from nature, dance and art. It was made possible by Caitriona,  her crew and the lovely people from the Boghill. Together they create this safe space and atmosphere were internal journeys are possible but one can also dance and create just for the fun of it.
I went back to Belgium enriched with my full heart, my own piece of art, a local piece of art and the stories of all those beautiful people I met walking in County Clare.
